2000 Trees 2014: Oxygen Thief

Oxygen Thief

Mostly one man, Bristolian Barry Dolan thrashing his guitar to an inch of its life and roaring t-shirt worthy lyrics into various night skies. His recent successes have seen him accompanied by a band, which he shall be on this night taking his sound to its rightful the next level. The tale of how he came around to the idea of a band is an interesting one, read about it on his blog here.

I declared his ability to make world ending sound with just himself and a guitar inspirational in 2011, that was his 200th gig and was also praised for “delivering intensity in a serene setting” which sums it up quite well, he made a party in the corner of a field at an unlikely time of day. Can’t wait to see what he delivers with a full band.

According to a very reliable source the count stands that this will be his sixth year playing 2000 trees, 6 out of 8 isn’t bad it might even be some kind of record? What’s more, in that time he’s played something like 14 sets in the hallowed fields of Upcote Farm.

He released his solo debut in 2011 and his full band debut at the end of last year, the which you may listen to here. Don’t miss.
