Tracks of the Year: Mark Ronson // MNDR // Q Tip- Bang Bang

Mark Ronson and the business internationalBang Bang Bang

It’s obviously a good move that Ronson has both started writing his own songs and stopped using brass on everything. It never bothered me too much but I know he got a lot of criticism for his single route approach to production.

What’s even more welcome is, his first track featuring Q-Tip and MNDR is BRILLIANT. It has four seperate hooks in it and is catchy as hell but without being mainstream pop. It is more electronic than I am usually drawn to but this is an almost ironic retro style that the video is also awash with. Kind of what people thought music in the future would be like in 1980.

I seriously think this is one of the best tracks of the year.
